WFG’s Senior Vice President of Northwest Operations and Divisional Counsel, Bob Horvat, joined WFG just over one year ago and has almost three decades of experience in Oregon and Washington transactional real estate, business and finance, including tenure as a partner with one of the largest law firms in the nation.

Bob’s expertise includes all aspects of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including the myriad of associated title and escrow issues. In addition, he has served as lead counsel for national, regional and local buyers, sellers, lenders and borrowers in sophisticated real property and asset acquisition and financing transactions. Bob would be happy to assist you at any time with any questions or issues you might have regarding:

  • Underwriting issues, including title issues relating to bankruptcy, conveyancing, easements, endorsements, foreclosures, judgments, powers of attorney, and probate

Matt Sandler, who has been with WFG for over 5 years, is an Assistant Vice President and Commercial Closing Attorney with WFG National Title Insurance Company. In that role Matt has served as Underwriting Counsel, National Claims Counsel and Corporate Counsel for WFG’s parent company, Williston Financial Group. Matt’s expertise covers all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including title and escrow issues. In addition, Matt is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, where he teaches Real Property Transactions to second and third year students. He is active in the real estate investment community and is a frequent speaker at continuing education classes for lenders and real estate agents. Prior to law school, Matt worked as a real estate investment analyst for a Portland lender and advised and counseled real estate investors about specialty financing, asset performance, and investment strategy. In his spare time, Matt enjoys international travel, golf and pick-up basketball.
